Seedhouse

This interesting surname of English origin is a topographical name for someone who lived by a seedhouse, deriving from the Middle English "sede", Old English "hus", "house". The surname dates back to the early 18th, Century (see below). Further recordings include one William Seedhouse who married Sarah Angus on September 8th 1803, at St. Mary le Bow, London, Ann Seedhouse married John Wall on December 25th 1856, at St. Martin's, Birmingham, and Anne Seedhouse married David Pugh on December 1st 1878 at Polesworth. George Seedhouse married Mary Jane Craddock on October 26th 1863, at Aston Juxta, Birmingham, and William Seedhouse married Thurza Willmore on April 30th 1860, also at Aston Juxta, Birmingham. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Tim Seedhouse witnessed the christening of hisson Timothy, which was dated 1721, St. Dunstan's, Stepney, during the reign of King George 1, "The First Hanoverian", 1714 - 1727.
