Heisler

Heisler
This name is German in origin and describes an early from of agricultural contractor, "one who was employed for a specific period such as a day or week". The name heraldically, is recorded in its original spelling of "Heseler" in Riestapps Armourial General for Silesia, and as "Hesseler" in Normandy, France. The name in its various spellings has long been recorded in England. The name development includes Anne Heslur christened at St. Stephens, Coleman Street, London in 1666 and Charles Heaseller who married Mary Spyver at St. Benets, London on April 27th 1713. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Jane Heisler, which was dated 1701, married William Shan at "All Hallows", London, during the reign of King William III, of Orange and England, 1650 - 1702. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.
